Jayne Ryan founded The Resource Planning Group (1987), a Human Resources consulting firm which assists individuals and companies to achieve individual and organizational excellence. Consulting services address the fundamentals of Human Resource management as well as sophisticated and complex organizational problems. The group provides a full range of services for middle market and multi-national companies: problems of start-up, merger, acquisition and divestiture; organizational assessment, individual coaching and development; staffing; culture and workforce diversity.
As Vice President of Human Resources for Chartcom, Inc. (the communications subsidiary of a Fortune 100 Company), Jayne Ryan had full responsibility for the design and implementation of all employee relations programs--including recruitment, benefits, compensation, policies and proce-dures, affirmative action, and management and organizational development programs. Chartcom's publishing properties included Ladies' Home Journal, Redbook, Sport, The Philadelphia Bulletin, and various special interest publications.
While Vice President of Marketing for two national consulting firms, Ms. Ryan assisted some of the largest and most sophisticated corporations in dealing with delicate employer/employee relations issues. She has designed and developed organizational development programs for companies facing transition and provided individual career counseling to senior executives.
Ms. Ryan has also served as the Senior Human Resources Executive for two Fortune 1000 companies. She was employed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance for the United States Government, and was selected to serve as a special consultant to Governor Richard A. Snelling (R-VT) to study the organization of the Executive branch of Vermont State Government. She has a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles and is fluent in Spanish.
Mark Freedman has been affiliated with The Resource Planning Group for eight years. In 1994 he founded the Career Strategies Division which provides resume and cover letter development and production, direct targeted mailing, Internet posting and search strategy coaching and counseling. Clients represent all line and staff functions within a broad range of industries, including food service, consumer products, manufacturing, service, communications and sports management. He has established alliances with national job banks to provide resume consultation and development to their membership.
Mark has also served as a consultant to several Fortune 100 companies, assisting them with the application of computer technology to human resource initiatives, including compensation, succession planning, and training. He is skilled in computer graphics and design and applies that knowledge in both consulting assignments and resume production.
Mark has over twenty-five years experience as Executive Director of large- and medium-sized human service agencies, both in New York and California. He has developed leading-edge programs for persons with disabilities to maximize their potential and integrate them into the life of their communities. Mark has been a featured speaker at many New York City metropolitan area organizations on the topic of executive job search strategy. He is a member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers and the National Resume Writers Association, and has been published in Resumes! Resumes! Resumes!, Career Press, 1997.
Mark received his B.A. from California State University Hayward, pursued his M.A. at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and earned credits toward a Ph.D. while teaching Political Science at the University of California Santa Barbara.
As the Director of Multicultural Development at Avon Products, Inc., David Snipe was responsible for defining the strategic plan for achieving multicultural workforce objectives of the business units and subsidiaries. In this position, he directed Avon's multicultural efforts nationwide, implementing program elements, working with senior management to devise internal and external communication systems and with various employee groups to maximize their contributions and input into the system.
Prior to that corporate assignment, David practiced law in Avon's legal department, counseling headquarters and field management on questions involving employment, termination and related human resource considerations, and on issues involving corporate and real estate matters. He also organized and chaired a corporate lobbyist group, represented the company before legislative panels and worked with company officials on important governmental concerns while senior council in the government affairs department.
David has spoken widely on the practices of corporate management and the diverse workforce. He has done extensive work with the Atlanta based American Institute for Managing Diversity and is a member of its Advisory Council.
Prior to working at Avon, he practiced corporate law for Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. He is a member of the American and New York City Bar Associations and several professional and civic organizations.
David received his B.A. and Masters of Education from Syracuse University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Leslie A. Mardenborough focuses on helping organizations align human resources with business strategies. Ms. Mardenborough was formerly Vice President, Human Resources at The New York Times Company, which publishes The New York Times and The Boston Globe, sports and leisure magazines, and operates television and radio stations. Ms. Mardenborough joined The Times in 1981 and progressed from Director of Employee Relations, to establish the position of Group Personnel Director for the firm's magazine group. She was named Director of Corporate Personnel in 1987, and elected Vice President in 1990.
Before joining The Times Company, Ms. Mardenborough was a consultant with New Life Group, Inc., management consultants, becoming executive director of the firm's Career Center in 1979. From 1973 to 1978 she held personnel and operations positions with a non-profit manpower agency, rising to the position of Vice President of Operations. She previously specialized in career counseling, job placement and financial aid as a counselor at Brooklyn College,.
Ms. Mardenborough has been active in a number of professional and business organizations including the Newspaper Association of America's Labor Relations and Human Resources Committee and the Human Resources Planning Society. She is also a member of the General Management Advisory Board for the American Press Institute.
In 1989 she completed the Program for Developing Executives at the Simmons College Graduate School of Management and completed her term as President of the Board of Directors for the school's Alumnae Association in 1996. Ms. Mardenborough, recognized in 1990 by EBONY magazine as one of the "100 of the Best and Brightest Black Women in Corporate America," is listed in Who's Who Among Black Americans, and received an honorary doctorate from Albright College in 1990.
Her civic commitments include participating on the boards of the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation, United Neighborhood Houses of NY, Inc. and on the Board of Trustees for Albright College, from which she received her B.A.
Richard G. Bauer is a Human Resource professional with over 25 years experience, combining the analytical and technical abilities of a compensation practitioner with strong business skills and perspective. Richard works in partnership with clients, seeking active input from constituents in designing a mutually acceptable solution – gaining a motivated force for successful implementation.
He has expertise in assisting diverse organizations with the design and implementation of performance-based compensation programs and an aptitude for designing and developing compensation plans that support the strategy and direction of a business, both domestic and international.
